Dispersions - 2014 CACS Conference

Wilfrid Laurier University is proud to host the 2014 CACS conference, Dispersions, January 16-19, 2014, at the Balsillie School for International Affairs in Waterloo.

This conference is devoted to exploring all forms of distributed culture, including dispersions of people, social groups and communities, flows of cultural objects and materialities, and the dispersion of cultural studies scholars across disciplines.

The keynote speaker is Dr. Mimi Thi Nguyen, Associate Professor and Conrad Humanities Professorial Scholar from the University of Illinois. Dr. Nguyen will speak on liberalism, freedom and power, in an address titled Damage Control, to be delivered on January 18, 2014, at the auditorium at the Centre for International Governance Innovation.

Dispersions will also feature a screening and director's talk with award-winning video artist and writer Richard Fung, who will present his film Dal Puri Diaspora on January 17, 2014, at the Princess Theatre, as part of the conference.
