Win lunch with Cary Fagan

Any story, if well written, brings images to mind, and the stories in Cary Fagan’s My Life Among the Apes will surely evoke many images. We want you to share a graphic representation of an image that comes to your mind in reading one of the stories from Fagan’s collection. The image could be your own graphic design or a photo taken by you.

Prize: lunch with Cary Fagan (see details below)

Contest Guidelines:

Contest entries can be submitted to artsinfo@wlu.ca by Monday, September 15, 2014.

Please include “CRP Contest Entry” in the email subject line. Each image must be accompanied by the following information:

•    Your name and contact information, including student ID and Laurier email address.
•    Name of the story the image depicts, e.g. “The Floating Wife.”
•    One sentence that adds to the graphic representation and will make the viewer reflect on the content.

Note:
The entry must consist of your original image, of which you will retain exclusive ownership. By submitting the entry, you are giving Wilfrid Laurier University the limited right to publish the image, the image’s name and your name in connection with the 2014 Common Reading Program.

Judging Criteria:

The judging panel will consist of members of the Common Reading Program Committee. Entries will be judged on creativity of the graphic representation, linkages with the story and originality of expression. The decision of the judges will be final.
