An Introduction to the CRP Committee

We thought we would take a moment today to introduce ourselves. We hope you will do the same in the comments section of this and future posts! We look forward to getting to know you and learn about your interests.

The steering committee for the Common Reading Program is made up of Ute Lischke, Denjoa Kankesan, Boba Samuels and Deborah Wills. Jordana Garbati is the blog moderator.

Welcome to Laurier! I'm the Chair of the Department of English and Film Studies and we are excited to be part of the Common Reading Program. Several of our instructors have put Indian Horse on the course syllabus for the fall and they look forward to studying the book with you. Looking forward to meeting many of you in September and discussing the book with you.

Ute Lischke

Thank you for checking out the Common Reading Program blog. My name is Denoja and I am the General Book Coordinator at the Laurier Bookstore and a committee member for the Common Reading Program. I hope you are enjoying reading Indian HorseWe have some exciting events planned for this program in September. Please check back for more details over the summer.

My name is Boba Samuels, and I am one of the members of the committee behind Laurier's Common Reading Program. I also manage the Laurier Writing Centre, so I would love to see first-year students come out to the writing centre with writing questions. Please also check back later for information about our writing contest for the Common Reading Program!

I'm Deborah Wills, one of Laurier's librarians, and the chair of the group that chose Indian Horse. My colleagues and I will be delighted to help you find resources related to this book or for any of your classes. We invite you all to come meet us in the library. Welcome to Laurier!

Deborah Wills

My name is Jordana Garbati and, like you, I am very new to Laurier! I am the Writing Consultant at the Writing Centre. I am excited about Indian Horse and the events that the steering committee has planned around this novel. I have no doubt that you are as grateful as I am to be a part of this initiative. Happy reading!

Jordana Garbati
