CPAG & PAG Performance Appraisal



The annual Performance Appraisal process is integral to Laurier's success as it provides managers and employees with a shared understanding of what is required (through work and development goals) and how success can be achieved.

Appraisals typically take place around June/July, and assess the performance year from July 1st to June 30th.† The performance appraisal process applies†to staff in†the Confidential (CPAG) and Professional (PAG) Administrative Groups.

2014 Performance Appraisal & Merit Increase Timeline:

Performance Appraisal Process & Timelines Communicated to all Managers and†CPAG &†PAG Staff

April 28th

Communication of Merit Grid to all Managers and†CPAG & PAG Staff

Week of June 9th

Employee Self?Assessment is completed by the employee and submitted to their direct manager

June 13th

Manager completes the Performance Appraisal Form and conducts appraisal meeting with employee

June 16th to August 29th

Managers submit merit recommendations to Human Resources

July 25th

Managers submit completed performance appraisal forms to Human Resources

August 29th

Compiled merit recommendations sent to appropriate Senior Administrator for final review and approval

August 15th

Senior Administrators review merit recommendations for their unit and provide approval to Human Resources

September 5th

Merit recommendations finalized and approved by Presidentís Group

Early September

Finalized merit increases communicated to managers

Week of September 15th

Letters sent to employees receiving merit increases

Week of September 22nd

Merit increases are processed on the†October pay deposit, retroactive to July 1st.
