Non-Laurier Students Registering on a Letter of Permission
Students registered at another university wishing to take courses for transfer credit for degree purposes at their home university may register at Laurier on a Letter of Permission.
Information for applicants who have been required to withdraw from any post-secondary institution.
Confirm with your home institution (especially anyone taking their final degree course at Laurier on a Letter of Permission), what the deadline date is for your home institution to receive your official final grade(s) from Laurier. Final grades are declared official during the following timeline at Laurier:
Winter Term -- mid-June
Intersession Term -- mid-July
Spring/ Summer Terms -- mid-September
Fall Term -- late January
It is the student’s responsibility to submit a Transcript Request Form to our office (selecting “AFTER” ___ Term grades are released) requesting a transcript be sent to your home institution.
Students registering on a Letter of Permission are
required to submit the documents indicated below.
Complete and submit the Application & Intent to Register form, along with your Letter of Permission from your Home University to the Office of the Registrar at Wilfrid Laurier University. Please note, you are NOT required to submit transcripts.
We must receive your Application and Letter of Permission together before we are able to register you in courses (pending space availability). It is suggested that you request alternate courses for your Letter of Permission should your first choice be full.
We cannot guarantee space in courses.

You will receive an email confirmation indicating the course(s) you have been registered in and the instructions to access LORIS.
If you are registered in an Online Learning Course, please complete the ONLINE LEARNING TERM FORM
Should you choose not to take a course in which you have received a Letter of Permission, you must also complete a letter request to be sent to your home institution to verify that you are no longer taking the course.
