Knowledge Mobilization Services

The following knowledge mobilization services are available at Laurier:

  • Critical review of knowledge mobilization plans for all grant applications
  • Facilitating grant applications for knowledge mobilization related work
  • Brokering relationships with community and other faculties for research collaboration
  • Planning and implementation of research communication. (blogs, Twitter, Facebook,Eventbrite event registration coaching, etc.)
  • Webpage and social media presence advising
  • Workshops on clear language summary writing, digital identity, knowledge mobilization, etc.
  • Supporting decision-makers to become actively engaged in every step of the research cycle
  • Managing the Clear Language Summaries writing program for peer-reviewed publications

The knowledge mobilization unit offers a suite of workshops to guide faculty from planning their online identity through to using social media tools appropriately. This approach is designed to avoid challenges by those who are only trained with how to use social media tools, rather than why to use each tool and building a strategy around social media tools, integrated with their other communications tools.

We also train researchers in how to use social media to increase community attendance at their conferences and workshops through the use of online tools and social media. One-on-one coaching is also offered. General media training is offered through CPAM, although Office of Research Services does offer complementary training.
