The lab of Computational Genomics and Metagenomics is interested in all things genomic, metagenomic, postgenomic, postmetagenomic, and hyperultramegasupragenomic. Our work centres around the evolution and the inference both of function and of functional interactions of gene products, mostly in Prokaryotes.
The Taiga Plains Research Group was formed to address the impact of climate change on the Taiga Plains in a collaborative and multidisciplinary approach.
The main focus of the Forest Ecology Research Group, at WLU, is the functional basis of plant species distributions. Trade-offs between stress tolerance and performance contribute strongly to species distributions and may provide a more general basis for species range sizes and patterns of local distribution. We focus on forest ecosystems including tropical, temperate and boreal forests.
