Kelly Murumets, '96
President and CEO, ParticipACTION
| Kelly Murumets graduated from Laurier in 1996, earning a master’s degree in Social Work, the Gold Medal Award for her faculty, and the Governor General’s Academic Medal. In 2007, she became President and Chief Executive Officer of ParticipACTION, an iconic Canadian brand since 1971. ParticipACTION is the national voice of physical activity and sport participation in the country. Prior to joining ParticipACTION, Kelly was the President of a publicly traded American telecommunications company, where she oversaw the integration of four bankrupt, or nearly bankrupt, companies into one thriving organization that ranked seventh in Deloitte’s Technology Fast 50 Program. Kelly is a valued member of the Laurier School of Business & Economics Dean’s Advisory Council, is a popular speaker at Laurier events, and was named as one of Laurier’s 100 Alumni of Achievement in 2011.
