Opportunities for Input

In November 2012, web-strategy consulting firm mStoner Inc. held numerous input sessions on the Waterloo and Brantford campuses to hear from the Laurier community. These sessions included open meetings for anyone from the Laurier community, as well as more focused meetings for specific user groups, such as faculties, departments and administrative units. The university also hosted an online discussion forum from Nov. 13 to 30. This research phase informed the development of a web strategy. Laurier then established CMS requirements based on the web strategy document.

After selecting Hannon Hill's Cascade Server as the CMS of choice, Laurier engaged mStoner as a partner for designing and implementing the University’s new website. At the beginning of the design phase of the website redevelopment, the mStoner team met with members of the Laurier community for additional feedback to complement and refresh the extensive consultation work that was completed by mStoner in 2012.

For further information about these sessions, contact Heidi Maissan, web manager, at hmaissan@wlu.ca.

The web steering committee, which has been involved in each phase of the web renewal project to date, will continue to liaise with and represent each faculty and department as the project proceeds.
