Mindfulness & Meditation (PMC 11:00-11:45 & 1:00-1:45)

In this session you will focus on the concept of mindfulness and the practice of meditation.  Breath awareness serves as a valuable anchor as you learn other mindfulness practices. Awareness of your senses is an important part of mindfulness practice. The body scan is a simple, structured way of checking in with the different parts of your body. Often, you will find areas where you have been holding stress, which can help to release that stress. The body scan can be very useful as a grounding mechanism if you are particularly stressed, or are having trouble keeping your attention on the breath.
