Taxonomy of Curriculum Changes and Associated Approval Processes

Laurier Degree Level Expectations

In 2005, the Ontario Council of Academic Vice-Presidents created a set of undergraduate and graduate Degree Level Expectations that have been adopted as Laurier's institutional Degree Level Expectations.  These documents will be useful to academic units preparing new program proposals and completing their cyclical review self-studies.

Quality Assurance Framework

The Quality Assurance Framework and Guide is published by the Ontario Universities Council on Quality Assurance. This document was used by Laurier to establish its new Institutional Quality Assurance Procedures.

PEQAB Ontario Qualifications Framework

The Postsecondary Education Quality Assessment Board (PEQAB) Degree Level Standards document outlines appropriate degree nomenclature as well as the general competencies for each degree level.  Units completing New Program Proposals may find this document useful.

Ministry Certifying Criteria

The Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities Certifying Criteria outlines factors that should be taken into consideration in the development of new academic programs.  Many of these factors are captured in Laurier's IQAP and the New Program Proposal Brief template.
