SSHRC Postdoctoral Fellowships

SSHRC Postdoctoral Fellowship applications require an "Institutional Nomination and Commitment" to be submitted as part of the application package.  These nominations should be prepared by the Chair/Director of the proposed host department that outlines how the institution "will support effective research training and career development for the applicant" based on SSHRC’s Guidelines for Effective Research Training.

Applicants should speak to their proposed supervisor to help identify the person who should complete the nomination.  In cases where the department head and the research supervisor are the same person, he/she should provide the information requested for the Institutional Nomination and Commitment as well as that requested for the Research Appraisal.  Department Chairs who would like advice or assistance completing these nominations should contact Matt Smith, Associate Dean Postdoctoral Affairs (msmith@wlu.ca).

Feedback will be provided on drafts of nomination letters submitted by Sept. 18, 2014.
