Historical Coat of Arms

Pictured right is the 1962 version of the university's coat of arms, which prominently featured the Luther Rose. When Laurier updated the coat of arms in 1989, the rose was moved to the upper left hand corner and a trio of maple leaves added.

Other tweaks were made to the coat of arms so it could be transformed into a circular format the shape of the flame was adjusted as was the treatment of the university's motto.
