Dr. Susan Keller-Mathers, Keynote Speaker

Annual Teaching Day 2010

“What we know about people who change the world is that they have a passion for their work, have developed high levels of expertise, and utilize their creative capacities”
(Keller-Mathers & Pagliaroli, 2009)

As university professionals, we are both creative learners, who invest deeply in the ongoing development of our disciplines, and creative teachers, who invest in best practices to develop the expertise and creativity of our students.  We puzzle over our content’s mysteries and demand the rigor of original thinking from our students. When our alumni rise to the level of colleague and make contributions to the field, we embrace their forward thinking. These accomplishments are no accident. They are the result of master teachers who engage thoughtfully in the construction of learning and model creativity as an essential partner in the process of teaching and learning.

This day is designed to celebrate and promote creative teaching, learning and scholarly productivity.  We will acknowledge our successes, refresh our thinking and engage in creative learning together.
