One Day Course (Re)Design Workshop

Is your course ready for next term?!

This hands-on intensive one-day workshop focuses on learning objectives building toward identifying assessments and instructional strategies through a process of backwards design.

Being able to articulate what your course is all about and what you want your students to achieve is critical to student learning and sound instructional design. In this hands-on intensive workshop, you will learn how to craft course objectives according to the SMART principle (smart, measurable, attainable, realistic and time-based). Participants will benefit from sharing and receiving feedback on their objectives before engaging in a process of selecting assignments that align with their objectives and designing teaching and learning activities designed to position your students to succeed.

Participants are asked to come prepared to share your assessment and teaching strategies as we collectively work through your instructional and design challenges and opportunities with colleagues from multiple disciplines.

To maximize contact time, participants are asked to spend one to two hours preparing materials in advance of the session. Workshop materials will be provided both online and in print form.
