Committees
The Senate Committee on Instructional Development (SCID) reviews and examines policies and priorities on instructional development as they affect the quality of teaching, learning and assessment in the university, and makes recommendations to Senate. As part of this mandate, the Committee adjudicates project grants for instructional development and provides input and support for awards related to teaching.
The Teaching, Learning and Technology (TLT) Group at Laurier officially began in October 1998. Accomplishments have included the introduction of an effective Student Technology Assistant (STA) program, the promotion of the utilization of course management software for both classroom and distance education courses, the encouragement of University budgetary expenditures to expand the number of multimedia classrooms, the endorsement and encouragement of the Library's information literacy programming, and the promotion of the use of technology in teaching and learning through the sponsorship of a number of best practice workshops.
