Undergraduate Student Opportunities
Undergraduate Thesis Students (Sept. 2015-April 2016):
The McDonald lab in the Department of Biology will be seeking candidates for undergraduate thesis projects. Competitive candidates with an excellent academic record (minimum GPA of 7.0 in Biology) who have an interest in obtaining hands-on experience through a laboratory research project are encouraged to apply. The McDonald lab performs research on the respiratory enzyme alternative oxidase in a wide variety of species and uses molecular biology, biochemistry, physiology, and bioinformatics techniques to address our research questions. I have previously supervised students in Biology, Chemistry (Biochemistry and Biotechnology Program), and Health Sciences. I anticipate supervising 2 thesis students next year.
Please submit an unofficial copy of your transcripts, a one-page description of why you wish to work in the McDonald lab, and a CV or resume via email to firstname.lastname@example.org by February 15, 2015 in order to be considered. The instructions and application for BI499 will be listed under the "Documents" section on the Biology Department webpage.
