Information for Family & Friends



Parking:

Parking will be available free of charge at the Waterloo Memorial Recreation Complex for the ceremony, however space will be limited. For receptions following, parking will be free at Laurier's Stadium lot located on Seagram Drive. This lot will be free all day. Gold and white lots will be free after 4:00pm. Please find alternative parking options here

In an attempt to decrease our carbon footprint, the university strongly encourages convocation graduates and guests to use more sustainable forms of transportation to the Waterloo Memorial Recreation Complex. Please consider using public transportation, walking, cycling or carpooling to the Spring Ceremonies.

Guest Seating:

Guest seating will be on a first come first serve basis and there are no tickets required.  The doors will be open for guest seating one hour prior to the ceremony.

Flowers:

Flowers will be available for purchase at the Waterloo Memorial Recreation Complex.

Photographer at Convocation:

A photographer from GradImages will be taking on-stage photos of all graduates.  Proofs will be sent to the graduates home address.  Visit www.gradimages.com or call 1-800-424-3686 to order pictures.  There will be a designated area closer to the stage for family and friends to take photographs.

Receptions:

Receptions will be held for each ceremony.  Graduates, family and friends are all encouraged to attend. All receptions will be immediately following the ceremony unless otherwise noted.  Locations will be posted several weeks before the ceremonies.

Degree/Diploma Frames:

Frames may be pre-ordered or purchased the day of convocation.  For more information please click here

Memorabilia and Gifts:

Giftware, grad rings and Laurier clothing can be purchased through the Bookstore.  Rings and Giftware will also be available for sale at convocation.

Hotel Accommodations:

Guests who are coming from out of town to participate in the Convocation ceremony may visit the City of Waterloo Accommodations site to choose from their preferred accommodations type.
