April 2, 2013 - Waterloo Regional Police Seeking Public Assistance - WATERLOO Campus
Waterloo Regional Police Detectives at North Division are seeking the assistance of the public in identifying the subjects of the following photo in relation to an investigation on Ezra St on March 17th, 2013. Anyone with information is asked to contact the investigating officers, Detective Vankalsbeek or Cst A. Perrin, or contact Waterloo Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
March 11, 2013 - Waterloo Regional Police Seeking Public Assistance (Assault) - WATERLOO Campus
Media Summary:
At 3:01 AM, Saturday March 9th, 2013, a 20 year old Toronto man visiting Waterloo called police after being assaulted in the vicinity of UW Place, a student residential complex at 102 Seagram Drive, Waterloo.
The victim had attended the University Of Waterloo Tamil Association Formal at the St. George Banquet Hall in Waterloo.
The victim left the hall at approximately 1:40 AM with friends and shortly before 3:00 AM, arrived at a student residence at or near UW Place on Seagram Drive.
The victim was then assaulted in the parking lot of the residence by three non-white males. The victim attempted to flee his attackers and was chased onto Seagram Drive where the attack continued. At the end of the assault the victim was able to run into the parking lot area at UW Place where he called police.
The victim was admitted into hospital where he received treatment for serious but non-life threating injuries.

February 25, 2013 - Waterloo Regional Police Seeking Public Assistance - WATERLOO Campus
Media Summary : Waterloo Regional Police continue to investigate reports of suspicious activity involving an unidentified male in the university district of Waterloo.
The male is described as 30-40 years of age, with possibly tanned skin, bald or shaved head, approximately 6 feet tall with a muscular build. A suspect photo can be viewed here.
The male was observed on one occasion in September 2012 and several times in December 2012 and January 2013 in the Noecker Street area. In these instances, the male was seen trying to look through the window into the interior of a residence.
Police are reminding the public to be vigilant of their surroundings and using customary safety measures such as locking residence doors and windows, and using exterior lights.

January 17, 2013 - Waterloo Regional Police Seeking Public Assistance - WATERLOO Campus
On January 9, 2013 at approximately 11:00 p.m., a female Waterloo resident was walking in the area of King Street North and Columbia Street East when an unknown male grabbed her face and demanded her purse. The male looked through her purse but did not take anything.
The subject then fled running westbound on Columbia Street. Police checked the area however the male suspect was not located.
Male described as: White 5'10", fair complexion, wearing a puffy winter jacket, dark jeans and golves, with crooked teeth.

October 18, 2012 - Waterloo Regional Police Seeking Public Assistance - WATERLOO Campus
Waterloo Regional Police investigators are releasing the attached security camera images and information along with an appeal to the public for information. The images can be viewed here.
Synopsis:
On September 18, 2012, at approximately 8:05 p.m., two males were observed entering a student apartment building on University Avenue East in Waterloo.
The males entered an unlocked door and took a laptop while the student was inside the residence.
At approximately 9:30 p.m., the same two males were seen entering another student apartment building on King Street North in Waterloo.
The two suspects entered another unlocked door while the student was at home. The student heard a noise and saw the suspects attempting to take his laptop.. The suspects dropped the computer and fled the scene.
It was later learned that the suspects had taken another student laptop from the same residence. Additional similar incidents are also being investigated in the London area.
The suspects are described as follows:
1) male, tan skin, early 20's, average build, dark short hair, wearing grey hooded sweatshirt, black track pants with three white stripes down the leg;
2) male, white, possibly Middle Eastern, early 20's, dark medium length hair, medium build, wearing an Ottawa Senators shirt, dark colored jeans, and carrying a black backpack.
The suspects were captured on video surveillance and investigators are requesting the public's assistance in identifying them.

September 10, 2012 - Sexual Assault

Waterloo Regional Police are investigating a report of a sexual assault in Waterloo.
A 17 year old female reported she was walking in the area of King and Weber Streets Waterloo at approximately 11:30 p.m. on Saturday September 8, 2012.
The female reports she was knocked to the ground by an unknown male who attempted to sexually assault her. The female resisted and the male fled on foot. The complainant did not require medical attention.
No suspect description is presently available.

Due to a recent rash of criminal activity in the area of the University Waterloo Regional Police have sent out the following safety tip sheet to all students on the Waterloo Campus. If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Waterloo Regional Police at 519-653-7700 or Special Constable Service at 519-885-3333. Special Constable Service reminds you to always use Foot Patrol or walk in groups. Please also only wear one ear bud if walking to and from campus so that you may hear your surroundings.

The male suspect approached the victim, produced a handgun and robbed the victim of personal items. The victim suffered minor injuries, which did not require medical treatment. The suspect is described as male, 5'10" with a slim build wearing all dark clothing and black gloves. | On Friday February 10, 2012 at approximately 3:05am, 20 year old Waterloo male was walking in the area of Hazel St and Hickory St, Waterloo. Two males approached the victim and produced a handgun and robbed the victim of some personal items. Once the victim had turned over his property he was allowed to leave and received no injuries as a result of the robbery. Suspect #1 described as a male 6' - 6'1"wearing all black clothing including gloves with a black toque with a white pom pom on top of it pulled down over his face. Suspect #2 described as male, 5'10" with a slim build wearing all dark clothing and black gloves and a black toque pulled down over his face. | On January 7, 2012 at approximately 1:30 am, a 22 year old male was approached by 3 unknown suspects on Hickory Street West near Albert Street in the City of Waterloo. One suspect brandished an object described as a handgun and demanded the victim empty his pockets. The victim was not carrying anything of value and the 3 suspects fled the area in an older small SUV, silver in colour. The SUV was last seen northbound on Albert Street towards Columbia Street West.
