For me personally choosing Laurier Brantford was one of the best decisions I've ever made. I was very hesitant to enter university and leave my small town for what seemed like a big city at the time, but this campus has such a community feeling that my hesitant feelings didn't last long. I've also come to love Brantford and city life in general, having everything so conveniently close and discovering all of the new things the city has to offer.
In my first year I lived in Post House Residence and absolutely loved it. I had a single room and lived with three other girls. Although we didn't become the best of friends, I was still able to make amazing connections outside of my apartment and have been friends with these people ever since.
In my second, third and fourth year at Laurier Brantford I became a Residence Life Don. The decision became quite obvious to me in first year because I clearly knew of my love for residence and I wanted to impact and help new students with their transition to university making it just as easy as mine had been. This experience made my university career unbelievable. I was able to meet so many new people, make so many new connections and grow so much as a person. The convenience of living in residence and on campus has also been great too.
Between academics, friends and extra-curricular activities I have never found a shortage of things to do here. I highly encourage getting involved as soon as you get here because it is so worth it. University is like a fresh start. Put yourself out there and become the person you always wished you were and if you don't think getting involved is right for you, just make sure you make those close friendships and enjoy your university experience while you can because it goes by so fast!
