Academic Advisors: Faculty of Science

The Academic Advisors in the Dean of Science Office, Bethany Ankucza and Maureen Coulter, are available for general academic advising in the Faculty of Science. Students in the General BSc / BA without Designation (Faculty of Science) program should contact one of these Academic Advisors for guidance regarding their program. Students who are experiencing general academic difficulties, including those who have extenuating personal circumstances (e.g., physical or mental health, family / relationship issues, etc.) that are impacting their academic performance, should contact one of these advisors for guidance. These advisors are also available to interpret and explain general university academic policies and procedures.

Bethany Ankucza specializes in:

· advising first-year students, including those who are transitioning from another post-secondary institution

· post-degree studies

· the petition process for deferred exams for Faculty of Science courses

Appointments with Bethany are available in the afternoon (1:30 - 4:00 p.m.) Monday to Thursday each week. 

Maureen Coulter specializes in:

· advising senior students who are experiencing general academic difficulties

· students who are on academic probation

· students who have been granted re-admission to WLU Faculty of Science programs following a period of absence

· the Faculty of Science petition process for exceptions to academic regulations

Appointments with Maureen are available in the morning (9:30 a.m. – noon) Monday to Thursday each week. 

The Academic Advisors offices are located in the Dean of Science Office, N1048.

Please use the self-booking system below. You will need your Novell (email) login and password to book an appointment. Phone appointments are also available. Please book an appointment as usual and indicate (in the description area) a phone number where you can be reached during that time period. Please note that you may need to wait 15+ minutes for a scheduled phone appointment should the advisor be running behind schedule.

Appointments with Maureen are in the morning (9:30 a.m. – noon) and appointments with Bethany are in the afternoon (1:30 - 4:00 p.m.) Monday to Thursday.
