Wilfrid Laurier University and the University of Waterloo are hosting a World Water Day event Thursday, March 22 at the University of Waterloo.
The event will feature the official Canadian release of a major United Nations international report on the state of the world’s water. In addition, there will be speakers, a talk about water careers and a graduate fair featuring research and scholarship awards.
Laurier has a well-developed reputation in water research, due in particular to the work of the Laurier Institute for Water Science and Cold Regions Research Centre, both of which are co-hosts of Thursday’s event.
The 2012 United Nations World Water Development Report, the UN’s flagship report on water, is released every three years. It gives an overall picture of the state of the world's freshwater resources and aims to provide decision-makers with the tools to implement sustainable use of our water.
Date: Thursday, March 22, 2012
Time: 10:30 a.m. start
Location: Federation Hall
University of Waterloo
200 University Avenue
Waterloo, Ontario
