Changes to enrolment and registrarial services

Communications, Public Affairs & Marketing

Mar 1/11

A notice issued on behalf of Tom Buckley, Assistant Vice-President: Academic Services

I would like to take this opportunity to share some changes in management and administrative structure within the Academic Services portfolio, specifically with regard to enrolment and registrarial services operations.

These units are currently structured and operate under a model that served Laurier well for many years. However, both internal and external environments have changed dramatically over the past several years, and we need to ensure these important functions are positioned to support the Laurier of today and tomorrow.

I am pleased to announce that Holly Cox has accepted the role of Director, Recruitment and Admissions, effective today, March 1. Holly has been with Laurier for 13 years in a variety of roles, most recently as Manager of Recruitment and Registrarial Services for the Brantford campus. She will lead the undergraduate recruitment and admissions team, which is comprised of the following units: domestic recruitment-Waterloo, domestic recruitment- Brantford, international recruitment, and admissions.

"I am delighted to have the opportunity to lead a multi-campus recruitment and admissions team,” Holly said. “This is a wonderful opportunity for Laurier to leverage the unique strengths of its campuses in Waterloo and Brantford to continue to attract high-calibre students to Laurier from around the world.”

Registrar Ray Darling will lead the registrarial and enrolment services units on all campuses. Ray will be responsible for the following operations: records and registration, student awards, exams and scheduling. Ray will also lead the establishment of Service Laurier, an integrated one-stop enrolment services model for students.

"I'm excited for the opportunity to work more closely with my colleagues at the Brantford campus as I know they are a strong and innovative team,” Ray said. “I am also looking forward to implementing Service Laurier at both campuses to improve service for our students."

Ray and Holly will report to me in these roles. These changes will better align our team with the needs of prospective and current Laurier students in both Waterloo and Brantford. They are based on best practices in enrolment management and will serve us well as we move forward as a multi-campus community.

Tom Buckley, Assistant Vice-President: Academic Services
