Laurier mourns the passing of Larry Agranove
The Wilfrid Laurier University community is saddened by the passing of Larry Agranove, retired professor of business, on March 9 at the age of 83.
Agranove taught in Laurierís School of Business & Economics from 1972 to 1989. He started at the university on a one-year teaching contract, and stayed on as a full-time professor for 17 years.
Born in Toronto, Agronove received his BA and PhD from Western University, and his Master of Science degree in Retailing from New York University.
In addition to his teaching, Agranove operated Fieldís Clothes and started his own management consulting practice, Agranove Associates. He also served on various corporate boards and was a founding director of the London chapter of The American Marketing Association.
A strong supporter of the arts, he enjoyed theatre and opera and sat on the boards of several cultural boards, including The London Symphony and The Ontario Federation of Symphony Orchestras.
Agranove is survived by his wife of 45 years, Susan.
