Developing an Academic Plan for Laurier
Nov 9/09
Wilfrid Laurier University has begun the collaborative process of developing a new Academic Plan.
The new Academic Plan is being developed out of a desire to merge the previous academic plan (the Century Plan, 2005) with the university’s Values, Vision, Mission and Guiding Principles statement, approved in 2008.
A consultation process is underway involving faculty members, deans and the vice-president: academic & provost.
Timelines:
October-December 2009: Vice-president academic to meet with all divisional councils to discuss the framework and the Deans' Green Paper; development in each Faculty of its response to the Green Paper.
January-February 2010: Facilitiated workshop including all the deans, associate deans, chairs and program coordinators to bring together the responses into one consolidated document.
March 2010: Submission of consolidated Academic Plan to Senate for discussion and approval.
