Laurierís Web Review Steering Committee would like to thank the many members of the Laurier community who participated in a series of consultation meetings last week on the Waterloo and Brantford campuses.
Consultants with web-strategy firm mStoner Inc. led the input sessions, which were designed to solicit comments and suggestions about what the Laurier community needs in a new university website.
Open sessions were held for faculty, staff and students on both campuses. As well, representatives from individual faculties and departments were invited to meet with the consultants to discuss their specific needs.
The consultations are part of a two-phase process to develop a new institutional website that will feature state-of-the-art functionality and a fresh design based on Laurierís new visual identity.
The first phase, which began this fall, involves consultation and research to assess the universityís website needs and to survey state-of-the-art web design and technology. The second phase is the development of the new website, which will be based on the information gathered in the first phase and will begin in early 2013.
By Dec. 31, 2012: Web-strategy firm mStoner Inc. to submit preliminary Phase 1 strategy report to Laurier's Website Review Steering Committee for review.
By Jan. 31, 2013: mStoner Inc. to submit final Phase 1 strategy report to Laurier's Website Review Steering Committee.
February-March 2013: Develop and issue a Request for Proposals (RFP) to identify an appropriate web-services firm to create the new Laurier website, based on the information gathered through the consultation and research phase.
Spring 2013: Web-development firm to be selected; redevelopment begins.
