Laurier Associate Director of Annual Giving earns national award
Communications, Public Affairs & Marketing
Tania John, associate director of annual giving in Laurier’s Development & Alumni Relations department, has won the 2012 Rising Star Award from the Canadian Council for the Advancement of Education (CCAE).
Respected for her commitment to philanthropy and innovation, John’s success is attributed to her creativity, work ethic and passion. John joined Laurier in 2008, and was named associate director of annual giving in 2011. Many of the new programs and initiatives she spearheaded not only generated donations, but also helped raise awareness about the value of philanthropy among students, faculty, staff and alumni.
“Tania John is an exemplary colleague here at Laurier,” said Bridget McMahon, director of Alumni Relations & Annual Giving. “She is a true trailblazer, with exceptional leadership skills, whose dedication to innovation, collaboration and accountability make her most worthy of this award. Tania’s commitment to philanthropy at Laurier exemplifies what the Laurier community strives to inspire from all its members – the value of leading a life of leadership and purpose.”
CCAE is a volunteer-led organization that promotes excellence in educational advancement. Its Rising Star Award is given annually to an advancement leader who has demonstrated early success and accomplishment. John will receive the award at the CCAE’s national conference in Toronto in June.
