Laurier's first-ever Tag Day
Communications, Public Affairs & Marketing
Mar 15/11
More than 1,000 purple tags will decorate Laurier’s Waterloo
campus today and tomorrow (March 15 and March 16) to help mark Laurier’s
first-ever Tag Day.
Tag Day is an opportunity to bring awareness of how donations and philanthropy
impact our university — and the student experience — each and every day. The
tags represent the sheer volume of impact Laurier has from the support of
alumni, students, faculty, staff, parents and friends.
Whether it’s a computer at the library, an entire building
on campus, lab equipment, or a newly awarded scholarship or bursary, every
donation to our university enriches the Laurier experience by providing
important enhancements that would not otherwise be possible. And it’s these charitable gifts that make the
difference between an average university experience and an exceptional one —
the kind of experience students come to Laurier for.
It’s hard to recognize the outstanding generosity of those who have come
together to make such a positive impact on our university, but that’s what Tag
Day is all about. On behalf of all members of the Laurier community, thank you
to the thousands of donors who support the Laurier experience!
