Laurier Faculty of Social Work hosting charity garage sale
Communications, Public Affairs & Marketing
Volunteers from Wilfrid Laurier University’s Social Innovation Research Group (SIRG) are organizing a garage sale Saturday, May 5, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Faculty of Social Work, 120 Duke Street West, Kitchener.
The garage sale will take place in the parking lot off College Street. In the case of adverse weather, the garage sale will be held indoors on the main floor of the Faculty of Social Work building.
SIRG will be partnering with several downtown community agencies and businesses for the garage sale, and proceeds collected will be donated to three local charities.
The Laurier community is invited to donate gently used clothing, jewellery, purses, toys, books and other household items for the sale. Items can be dropped off at the SIRG office at the Faculty of Social Work, room 207, or the office of Laurier Associate Professor Ginette Lafrenière, room 310.
SIRG is a research and training incubator in Laurier’s Faculty of Social Work for graduate students interested in research and community development.
