Quantum computing expert Dr. Raymond Laflamme to speak at Laurier

Dr. Raymond Laflamme, a renowned expert in quantum computing and director of the Institute for Quantum Computing at the University of Waterloo, will speak to members of the Laurier community on Thursday, April 29, at 4 p.m. in room N1044 of the Science Building.
Laflamme will speak about experimental quantum error correction, an area of study in which he has made groundbreaking contributions.
Laflamme completed his PhD under the direction of prominent theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking. He holds a Canada Research Chair in Quantum Information and is director of the Quantum Information Program of the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research.
The event is part of Laurier’s Computational Science and Applied & Statistical Modelling (CSASM) seminar series.
