CIGI Campus awarded prestigious Governor Generalís Medal in Architecture

The CIGI Campus building has been awarded a prestigious Governor Generalís Medal in Architecture.
The facility, located at Erb Street and Father David Bauer Drive in Waterloo, houses a number of research organizations and academic programs specializing in global issues, including the Balsillie School of International Affairs, of which Laurier is a founding partner.
Designed by KPMB Architects, the CIGI Campus is among 12 projects that received the honour in 2014. The program is run by the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada and the Canada Council for the Arts. Medals are awarded based on the architectural artistic merit of a structureís design, including elements such as conceptual clarity, detailing, sustainable design, compatibility with the site, and innovation and uniqueness.
