Returning undergraduates: Course registration for fall/winter 2014-15 opens this week
Communications, Public Affairs & Marketing
This year Wilfrid Laurier University will be taking a different approach to online course registration, which will open for returning undergraduate students on June 23.
Registration time tickets — which define when a student's course registration period begins — will now be determined by the number of credits completed rather than year of study.
This means that all undergraduate students returning to Laurier will need to know the number of credits they’ve completed before registering for classes for the 2014-15 academic year.
Students can find their number of completed credits by logging into their LORIS account and visiting the “Official Final Grades” or “Unofficial Record of Course Work” pages.
Any courses completed in the spring/summer 2014 (including exchange credits) will be counted towards a student’s total credit count. These credits will not appear as completed on the “Official Final Grades” or “Unofficial Record of Course Work” pages, so students must add any in-progress credits to their total number of credits.
Nipissing credits will be counted toward a student’s total credit count. These credits will not appear as completed on the “Official Final Grades” or “Unofficial Record of Course Work” pages, so students must add any Nipissing credits to their total number of credits.
Students can find their specific registration time by clicking here, or following the steps below, which outline how to determine a time ticket on LORIS.
To find a registration time on LORIS:
- Log in on LORIS
- Select 'Student Services'
- Select 'Registration'
- Select 'Select Term'
- Click 'Add/Drop Classes' (If you are logging in before your time ticket opens, a message will tell you when you will be able to register.)
- Once you have determined when your registration time will open, continue in LORIS to the 'Registration' link under the Student Services tab to select your courses.
More information can be found in the Registration Guide for Returning Students.
For students who are enrolled in a double major within two different faculties (eg. Psychology and Sociology), your single time ticket is assigned based on your home faculty and not necessarily based on the first major listed in your program.
