Laurier-hosted integrated and engaged learning conference seeking proposals
Communications, Public Affairs & Marketing
Wilfrid Laurier University is seeking proposals for its inaugural integrated and engaged learning conference May 7-9, 2014 on the university’s Waterloo campus: “Integrated and Engaged Learning 2014: Exploring Partnerships in Teaching and Learning.”
The conference will bring together the various partners – both within postsecondary institutions and in their external communities – involved in providing an educational experience that engages students deeply in their learning.
The means for producing deep and authentic learning are diverse, ranging from flipped classrooms to community placements. The conference will showcase these high-impact practices as well as provide a forum for examining the successes and challenges of the integrated and engaged approach to learning.
Proposals for workshops, information sessions, panel discussions and poster presentations are welcome, and should be submitted no later than 6 p.m. on Feb. 23. Organizers are interested in proposals that address the conference theme on both a curricular and co-curricular basis.
Conference details, keynote presenters, concurrent session information and proposal procedures are available online at wlu.ca/teachingandlearning/ielc.
