Laurier JUMP program accepting registrations from school and parent-led groups
Communications, Public Affairs & Marketing
Each May and June, students in Grades 5 to 8 participate in Wilfrid Laurier University’s Junior University Multidisciplinary Program (JUMP) which offers an educational campus experience for youth. Now in its 19th year, JUMP is an established three-day residential program that introduces Grade 5 to 8 students to courses in subject areas including archaeology, astronomy, athletics, business, chemistry, geography, leadership, music, and psychology. One- and two-day programs are also available.
Over 25,000 students have attended JUMP and have been introduced to the Laurier campus. JUMP students discover the excitement of learning while participating in hands-on activities, staying in residence, eating in the dining hall and enjoying fun recreation events.
Wilfrid Laurier University appreciates that teachers are supporters of offering educational opportunities such as JUMP to their students, but that some members of the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario may not be in a position to organize year-end trips this school year.
For the 2013 season, JUMP will accept school registrations, as well as registrations, from parent-led groups. For more information, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call 519-884-0170, x3958. Parents/guardians who choose to have their child attend JUMP will be responsible for informing the school and completing any documentation related to absenteeism.
