Languages & Literatures welcomes Dr. Maria Eugenia de Luna Villalón
The Department of Languages and Literatures is pleased to announce that Dr. Maria Eugenia de Luna Villalón has accepted WLU’s offer of a two-year Limited Term Appointment in Spanish, effective 1 July 2012.
Dr. de Luna Villalón has a PhD in Hispanic Studies – Linguistics from the University of Western Ontario, where she wrote her doctoral dissertation entitled Mexican Temporary Agricultural Workers in Canada: A Language and Migration Approach under the direction of Dr. Joyce Bruhn de Garavito. Her research on intercultural and interlinguistic exchanges between Latin America and North America has appeared in such journals as Lectura y vida: Revista latinoamericana de lectura, Ubiquitous Learning: An International Journal, and Segundas Lenguas e Inmigración en la Red.
Professor de Luna Villalón comes to us from Alvernia University (USA), where she has been Assistant Professor of Spanish since 2011. We are delighted that she will be joining our department this fall.
