Upcoming network switch maintenance July 14 2013

Information Technology Services will be performing some upgrades to network
switches on Sunday, July 14 2013 between 8:00 AM and 11:45 PM.
The purpose of the upgrades is to bring the software operating the switches to a
current level, which should resolve some issues that occasionally cause
problems. 


These upgrades will be carried out in a series of phases, each phase
affecting a different segment of all campuses. The intended schedule is posted
below, but please note that times are approximate and while we will attempt to
keep to the schedule, there may be unforseen circumstances that cause the
schedule to slip. There is the possibility of short (a few minutes) outages in a
segment near the end of the phase which affects it..




phase1 : 8am-10am

Areas effected : all campuses, possibly few short interruptions


phase2: 10am-11:15am

Areas effected : 255 King, Northdale, 202 Regina, 81 Lodge, Bricker
Academic Building


phase3: 11:15am-2:15pm

Areas effected: Science and Science Research building, Aird, Arts


Phase3: 2:15pm-3:30pm

Areas effected: Athletic Complex ,Concourse ,Career Services, DAWB


Phase4: 3:30pm-5:15pm

Areas effected: Library, FNCC, FoodCourt, Schlegel,, Seminary


Phase 5: 5:15pm-6:30pm

Areas effected: FSW, Peters, 232 King


Phase 6: 6:30pm-11:45pm

Areas effected: Residence, Brantford Campus


Please note that this maintenance is unrelated to, and separate from, the
ISP initiated outage of internet service announced for July 21 2013.
