Financial Mathematics Program Changes for 2012-13

Additional Notes for all Honours Financial Mathematics BSc/BA Programs, including Double Degree with BBA
As of 1 September 2012
- MA 307 replaces MA 371 as a required course in all Financial Mathematics programs. A student who completed MA 371 prior to 1 September 2012 is not required to complete MA 307.
- MA 350 replaces MA 450 as a required course in all Financial Mathematics programs. The course content of MA 350 changes as of 1 September 2012; the course content of MA 450 will change as of 1 September 2013. A student who completed MA 350 prior to 1 September 2012 must complete MA 450 in 2012-13. A student who did not complete MA 350 or MA 450 prior to 1 September 2012 should complete MA 350 in 2012-13 or as soon as possible thereafter. MA 450 is recommended as an elective to any student who completes MA 350 in 2012-13 or subsequently.
- MA 351 is renumbered MA 451. This course is required in all Financial Mathematics programs. A student who did not complete MA351 prior to 1 September 2012 must complete MA 451. The MA 350 prerequisite of MA 451 will not be enforced until 1 September 2013; nonetheless, it is recommended that students complete MA 350 before attempting MA 451. A student may hold credit in only one of MA 351 and MA 451.
- MA490 is now a required course in all Financial Mathematics programs. However, there is an exception for students who before September 2012 entered any Financial Mathematics program other than Double-Degree. For those students, MA 490 is recommended but not required.
