The Award for Teaching Excellence is an annual award given to a full time faculty member who 'excels in teaching'. We are thrilled that Bill has been chosen for this award. We have long believed that Bill was most deserving and needed to be recognized for his dedication to his students and his passion for teaching.

Bill exemplifies all of the positive qualities of an excellent educator and this is echoed by many of his current and former students.

For example, when asked about Bill as a teacher one student commented that it was because of Bill that she developed a keen interest in research and teaching and that he helped her to gainconfidence to pursue graduate school. Another student commented about his keen skill in the classroom by saying that, "Dr. McTeer is not only a fantastic academic with a passion to learn himself, but he shares this passion with his students in his teaching". She went on to say that she believed he made learning enjoyable for all students.

We are all fortunate to learn from Bill, whether it be in the classroom or as his colleague in the Kinesiology department.
