WLU KPE Graduate, Lisa Wallace, Lands Position with Canadian Olympic Committee
KPE Honours BA student graduated in 2002 with Administration Option
Lisa Wallace, 2002 WLU graduate of Honours BA KPE (with Admin Option), has been named Program Manager, Education and Community Relations for the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC). She will move to Vancouver shortly to take up the position which will require her to work closely with the Vancouver (2010) Olympic Organization Committee (VANOC).
She will have responsibility for COC initiatives such as Education and Youth Outreach programs, the Adopt an Athlete Program, and community relations activities involving key COC stakeholders.
A four-year member of Laurier women's volleyball team, Lisa obtained her Bachelor of Education and Master of Arts in Sport Administration from the University of Ottawa in 2003 and 2004 respectively. Lisa has taught Physical Education and Marketing and Business for the Peel Region Board of Education and has served as the Beach Director for the Ontario Volleyball Association from 2006 to the present. She targeted a career in Olympic administration by serving a two-month internship with the Athens Organizing Committee (beach volleyball) in 2004, and attending the Olympic Academy of Canada (2004) and the Intenational Olympic Academy for Young Participants (2005).
