Applications required for donor supported bursaries

Beginning today, the Student Awards Office will be implementing a new process requiring application to the Donor Supported Bursary Program. Previously, these bursaries were granted automatically as part of the General Tuition Bursary Program.
The application to apply for donor supported bursary assistance for the upcoming 2011-2012 academic year is now available online through your LORIS account under the Student Services tab. For students returning in September 2011, the new online application may be submitted anytime until June 6.
Applications will be assessed over the summer months and notification of bursary assistance will be sent to your Laurier email address in mid to late August. If successful, these funds will be applied against your fees for September 2011.
The new application will consist of a three-step process:
1. Choose the bursaries for which you are eligible. For opportunities which designate a year for eligilibity, please use the year of study that you will be registered in as of September 2011 as your reference.
2. Provide us with financial information, as required in the LORIS instructions (please read carefully).
3. Accept the terms and conditions of the program by submitting your application for consideration.
Receipt of a donor supported bursary will not exclude any student from applying for the General Tuition Bursary Program which will be assessed during the regular fall and winter semesters. Due to the anticipated volume of applications and limited amount of funding available through the Donor Supported Bursary Program, eligible candidates may not receive funding through this program but are still encouraged to apply for the General Bursary Program during the fall 2011 semester.
