BRANTFORD – Wilfrid Laurier University’s Brantford campus is hosting Think Brantford Day on Saturday, May 11 with a full day of activities designed to provide prospective students with information about studying at Laurier’s Brantford campus.
Think Brantford Day will offer opportunities to attend mini-lectures, and take a tour of the city of Brantford, the Laurier campus and Laurier residence buildings.
“Think Brantford day is designed for our prospective students to experience the classroom, the campus and the city,” said Catherine O’Brien, welcome centre coordinator in Recruitment and Admissions. “Students are currently trying to decide where they are going to spend the next four or five years of their lives, and we want to give them the best sense of what our Brantford campus has to offer.”
Students and their families are invited to start their day at the Carnegie Building at 10 a.m. Information sessions will be given by Residence Life and the Career Development Centre. Four mock lectures are scheduled throughout the day covering a variety of topics and programs, which will give prospective students a sense of the variety of discussion topics that take place during first-year courses.
In addition to campus and residence tours every 15 minutes, there are scheduled bus tours of the city of Brantford that will provide students and their families a better sense of the community beyond the downtown location of the campus.
