BRANTFORD – Gail Vaz-Oxlade, one of Canada’s most successful and respected financial writers, will be at Wilfrid Laurier University’s Brantford campus to talk about her new book Money Rules on March 26 at 6 p.m. at the Sanderson Centre for the Performing Arts, 88 Dalhousie Street.
Vaz-Oxlade believes that money isn’t rocket science; it’s discipline. Her latest book provides essential rules for making your money work for you, and provides tricks to her trade that make money decisions less complicated. Her presentation will have some specific tips for university students, as well as rules that apply to everyone.
“Gail is known as a leader in financial literacy, and we’re so pleased to be able to have her speak to our students and the community,” said Lisa Neziol, financial aid and scholarships administrator at Laurier. “With the rising cost of post-secondary education, it is increasingly important for students to have a solid financial plan.”
Money Rules includes tips on everything from tax-free savings accounts (TFSAs) to income tax, and borrowing to retirement savings plans.
Vaz-Oxlade is the author of several bestselling books including Debt-Free Forever, Never Too Late, Money-Smart Kids, It’s Your Money and Money Rules. She also hosts the television shows Princess and Til Debt Do Us Part, and is a radio host on Newstalk 1010.
The event will include a book signing, with copies of Money Rules and her previous books available at the event through the Stedman Community Bookstore.
Tickets are free, and are available from the Sanderson Centre box office at 519.758.8090.
