Dr. Brenda L. Murphy is an associate professor of Geography and Contemporary Studies at Wilfrid Laurier University, Brantford Campus. She studies risk and resilience issues within the context of small, rural and remote communities and spaces. Her research encompasses many hazards including tornadoes, water contamination, blackouts, and nuclear waste. Most recently, through a study on maple syrup production, her work focuses on developing approaches to undertaking research across disciplines and cultures, particularly in the context of climate change.
