Laurier updates policy governing official University names, marks and logos

Wilfrid Laurier University has updated the policy that governs the use of official University names, marks and logos.

The purpose of Policy 13.1 is to protect and regulate the use of all Laurier names and branded property. The University has officially-registered trademarks, pursuant to the Trade-marks Act of Canada, including names, marks and insignia related to the university such as Golden Hawks, WLU Hawks, academic crests, Laurier logos, designs and symbols.

It is important for legal and branding reasons that Policy 13.1 be followed by members of the Laurier community and by all external parties. The policy also includes links to related information, including a Flowchart for Use of Branded Property, Procedure for Commercial Use, Procedure for Non-Commercial Use, and Ethical Purchasing.
