The Laurier Centre for Economic Re-search and Policy Analysis (LCERPA) today announced the launch of Labour Market News, a first in a series of briefs designed to provide up-to-date news and expert economic opinion concerning labour market trends and policy issues.
Labour Market News will be published quarterly and is timed to coincide with the release of the latest labour market data from Statistics Canada. In addition to commenting on the latest trends, each issue of Labour Market News will provide insights to different topics such as summer employment, minimum wages, and unionization rates in Canada. The first issue (Feb 2010) focuses on retirement and the recession.
“This newsletter provides a vehicle for our talented researchers in labour economics to provide insights into the latest data and highlight important issues in a way that is accessible for non-academics,”,” said Dr. William Morrison, LCERPA director and professor of Economics at Wilfrid Laurier University.
The Laurier Centre for Economic Research and Policy Analysis is an international association of academic and professional economists, based at the School of Business and Economics at Wilfrid Laurier University, Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.
The premiere issue of Labour Market News can be downloaded from the LCERPA website: http://www.lcerpa.org/labour-market-news/ or call (519) 884-0710 x 2147 for more information.
