Register for Headstart 2008

Headstart is designed to make the transition to university life easier for our incoming students and their parents or guardians.† It is an introduction to life and learning at Laurier. For students, it's an opportunity to learn about:

  • the academic program
  • academic expectations
  • the difference between high school and university
  • campus services and resources that can help you make a success of university

You'll be able to take part in a special Strategies for Academic Success session and chat with senior students about studying at Laurier.† You'll also be able to get your student identification card, the Laurier OneCard.

Parents will participate in a special Parent Transition 101 program that provides an overview of what you'll be experiencing as a university student and how they can support you, and answers the questions that they may have about residence life, orientation week, financial aid, etc.

Other activities include tours of the campus, library and some of our residence buildings, and the opportunity to learn more about life in the Laurier community/

If youíve received an Offer of Admission to Laurier you are strongly encouraged to participate in Headstart.† If you canít attend, please contact the faculty into which you are being admitted to make alternate arrangements.

Headstart participants will need to bring:
  • Offer of Admission
  • Government photo identification (passport, driverís licence, health card)
  • Year 1 Registration Guide.

Accommodations- Waterloo Campus


Need a place to stay while youíre in Waterloo for Headstart?

Headstart participants can try out residence living by staying in Laurierís residences. We offer comfortable accommodation in dormitory-style and apartment-style residences with rates ranging from $25 a day to $100 a day depending on style and residence chosen.
