Laurier’s School of Business & Economics introduces Orientation Day for first year students

WATERLOO – Laurier’s School of Business & Economics Student Council (SBESC) introduces Orientation Day ’07 on Sunday, September 9, 2007. In its inaugural year, Orientation Day ’07 will help to develop relationships between incoming students, their faculty and mentors, and set the tone for the upcoming year.
“Orientation Day will demonstrate the close-knit community that exists within the School of Business & Economics and invites the new students to become apart of it” says SBESC President, Samantha Bolland. “The SBESC hopes to provide students with the opportunity to get involved and maximize their experience both inside and outside the classroom.”
Centred on sophistication and prestige, Orientation Day will bring together 400 of Laurier’s first year students with motivational corporate community members, influential professors, and student leaders and will be supported by community corporate sponsors such as PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, Economical Insurance Group, CMA Canada and Kraft. “The professionalism and innovation that the SBESC brings to their events is outstanding. Orientation Day shows first hand the dedication and commitment which our students bring to their academic experience” says Laurier School of Business & Economics Dean, Ginny Dybenko.
Orientation Day will kick off with a catered lunch, will continue with sessions with mentors, and will end with a cocktail / networking reception.
