Dr. Subramanian Swamy, Professor, Harvard University, will visit the School of Business & Economics at Wilfrid Laurier University, on Friday, August 10 to address the recent economic progress in India and China & its implications for Canada. Dr. Swamy is an authority on the Economic Development in India and East Asia.
Dr. Swamy has held a number of public roles as a member of the Indian Parliament (1974-99), a cabinet Minister of Commerce and Law & Justice (1990-1991), and Chairman of the Commission on Labour Standards and International Trade (equivalent to the rank of a cabinet minister) (1994 -1996). Dr. Swamy was one of the founding members of the Janata Party and has been its president since 1990. Dr. Swamy is known for his efforts in normalizing relations with China and Israel.
Open to the community, this guest lecture will take place at Wilfrid Laurier University.
