Laurier Centre for Music in the Community's recognition awards ceremony this Saturday
2 pm at Waterloo's First United Church
The annual Laurier Centre for Music in the Community recognition awards ceremony takes place Saturday, June 2 at 2pm at First United Church in Waterloo (16 William Street). The event also showcases the Laurier String Academy with student performances. Featured ensembles include the Penderecki String Quartet.
Since 2009, LcMc has publicly recognized members of our community who have advanced the quality of music through their contribution. This year's recipients are Dr. Ken Hull, Associate Professor of music, Conrad Grebel University College and founder of the Spiritus Ensemble, Lawrence McNaught, president of NUMUS and director of the Registry Theatre, and Kari Kokko, Pathways to Education and KW Symphony music school director and community music volunteer.
