Videos illustrate strengths of Laurier's Music Therapy program
From May's international music therapy conference, hosted by CIMTR
Jul 28/11
In May, The Manfred and Penny Conrad Institute for Music Therapy Research (CIMTR) hosted an international music therapy research conference on clinical improvisation—a process where a client and therapist communicate using music.
These two videos are from the conference—the first showing 6th level students incorporating different styles in clinical improvisation and the second showing research by graduating student Sara Punn on the use of Balinese music in music therapy.
Dr. Colin Andrew Lee, Head of the Music Therapy Program, says the videos illustrate the practice of improvisation and the diversity of music in Laurier’s music therapy program.
